We have been using this brand of hummingbird food for nearly ten years. It is the best, bar none, for both ease of use and for attracting hummingbirds.
Allow to cool. The producers of these products are running a major scam - they are selling you SUGAR at a huge profit margin.Mix one cup of sugar to four cups of water. Heat to boiling. Clean and then fill your feeders. Donate the money you save to the Audubon Society, or put it toward another feeder.
This product is popular because you don't need to cook it and it works. I read the reviews with a smile. Of course it's cheaper to make your own food, but the process involves mixing and heating the solution, and then keeping it fresh, which we found difficult, even in the refrigerator. It's simple to mix and you make it as you go, so you aren't storing prepared solution. We think it's worth the price in convenience, but you can certainly disagree on that point.
Do not waste your time or money with this seller. They were VERY SLOW in shipping and charged me $2 more for shipping than required.I called them and they stated on top of the $4.95 standard shipping they charge $1 per pound on shipping of all items. If I could give less than a one star rating I would.BEWARE of this seller.
This product is nothing but table sugar. The label says it is 100% sucrose, that that's just sugar. Mix 2 ounces of table sugar with a cup of water and you've done what they do, and for lots less than $10 for a pound-and-a-half.
